How to Combine MP3 Files into an M4B Audiobook Directly on Your iPhone

Tired of listening to dozens of separate MP3 files? Learn how to use a native iPhone audiobook binder to convert MP3 to M4B and merge everything into a single, beautifully chaptered file.

If you download audiobooks outside of traditional stores, you're probably familiar with the frustration of receiving a folder stuffed with 30 or 40 individual MP3 or M4A files. Listening to them in sequence is annoying, they clutter your music app, and they don't remember where you stopped listening.

Converting those loose files into a single .m4b file - the standard format for Apple Books and premium players - used to require complicated desktop software. Now, you can do it entirely on your iPhone using the M4Bindr audiobook binder.

Here is a quick, three-step guide to combine MP3 files into M4B right from your phone.

Step 1: Import and Organize the Files

Open the M4Bindr M4B tool and tap Add Audio Files. You can select your loose MP3, M4A, or existing M4B files directly from the Apple Files app or iCloud Drive.

Once your files are loaded, simply drag and drop them to secure the correct listening order. If the files have messy names, you can tap on any individual file to rename its chapter title or adjust its chapter number. When your chapters are stacked perfectly, hit Save.

Step 2: Set Up Audiobook Metadata

A real audiobook needs proper identification. On the home screen, tap Add Metadata. Here you can customize:

  • The Book Title (Mandatory)
  • Author and Narrator
  • Release Year
  • Cover Art

Adding custom cover art and author details makes your final audiobook look official when sitting in your Apple Books library. Once filled out, tap Save.

Step 3: Bind Everything Together

Now for the magic. Tap Bind on the main screen.

M4Bindr processes the audio entirely on your device - meaning there are no slow cloud uploads, and your files maintain their original quality securely. Because iOS aggressively manages background apps, it's best to leave the app open while the binding finishes. Don't worry though: you can always pause and resume the process if you need to use your phone for something else.

Exporting and Listening

When the progress bar finishes, your new, unified M4B audiobook is ready! You can immediately export it to your iCloud Drive, standard Files app, or share it directly to your favorite player (like Apple Books).

Your newly minted audiobooks are also safely stored in the app's Library tab so you can re-export them anytime. Just remember that if you delete an audiobook from the M4Bindr library, it is permanently removed, so always back up your favorites!

Whether you are organizing a giant fantasy epic or compiling a massive podcast archive, creating an audiobook on your iPhone has never been easier.
